Since 2010, when President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law, the nation’s uninsured population has dropped to its lowest rate in the 25 years CDC’s National Health Interview Survey has reported such data: less than 10 percent. In the first nine months of 2016, the percentage of people who were uninsured at the time of the interview was 8.8 percent compared with 16 percent in 2010.
